Paul LaViolette, Ph.D. |
PAUL A. LaVIOLETTE, PH.D, is author of Earth Under Fire,
Beyond
the Big Bang, Subquantum Kinetics, and editor of A Systems
View of Man. He has also published many original papers in physics,
astronomy, climatology, systems theory, and psychology. He received his
BA in physics from Johns Hopkins, his MBA from the University of Chicago,
and PhD from Portland State University and is currently president of the
Starburst Foundation, an interdisciplinary scientific research institute.
Paul LaViolette has an ongoing interest in metaphysics, mysticism, and music. He has served as a solar energy consultant for the UN, Greek government, and Club of Rome Goals for Mankind Project and has also consulted Fortune 500 companies on ways of stimulating innovation. Research he conducted at Harvard School of Public Health led him to invent an improved pulsation dampener for air sampling pumps. Related work led him to develop an improved life-support rebreather apparatus for protection against hazardous environments and for which he received two patents. |
| Recognized in the Marquis Who's Who in Science
and Engineering, Dr. LaViolette is the first to predict that high intensity
volleys of cosmic ray particles travel directly to our planet from distant
sources in our Galaxy, a phenomenon now confirmed by scientific data. He
is also the first to discover high concentrations of cosmic dust in Ice
Age polar ice, indicating the occurrence of a global cosmic catastrophe
in ancient times. Based on this work, he made predictions about the entry
of interstellar dust into the solar system ten years before its confirmation
in 1993 by data from the Ulysses spacecraft and by radar observations from
New Zealand. He also originated the glacier wave flood theory that not
only provides a reasonable scientific explanation for widespread continental
floods, but also presents a credible explanation for the sudden freezing
of the arctic mammoths and demise of the Pleistocene mammals. Also he developed
a novel theory that links geomagnetic flips to the past occurrence of immense
solar flare storm outbursts.
He is the developer of subquantum kinetics, a novel approach to microphysics that not only accounts for electric, magnetic, gravitational, and nuclear forces in a unified manner, but also resolves many long-standing problems in physics such as the field singularity problem, the wave-particle dualism, and the field source problem, to mention a few. Moreover based on the predictions of this theory, he developed an alternative cosmology that effectively replaces the big bang theory. In fact, in 1986, he was the first to cast doubt on the big bang theory by showing that it makes a far poorer fit to existing astronomical data when compared to this new non-expanding universe cosmology. The subquantum kinetics cosmology also led him to make successful predictions about galaxy evolution that were later verified with the Hubble Space Telescope. Dr. LaViolette is credited with the discovery of the planetary-stellar
mass-luminosity relation which demonstrates that the Sun, planets, stars,
and supernova explosions are powered by spontaneous energy creation through
photon blueshifting. With this relation, he successfully predicted the
mass-luminosity ratio of the first brown dwarf to be discovered.
He is also the co-developer of the Gray-LaViolette feeling tone theory which explains how the brain/mind forms creative thoughts. This has led to a new understanding of how the brain functions and to a novel approach in education. http://www.etheric.com |

Daniel Cohen |
Daniel Edward Cohen was born on March 12, 1936, in Chicago,
Illinois. His parents divorced when he was very young and his mother, Sue
Greenberg, married Milton Cohen, a veteran of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade.
Daniel Cohen attended Chicago public schools and was a "hanger-on" in the
bohemian community around the University of Chicago while in high school
in the early 1950s. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where
he abandoned an interest in biology for journalism. He graduated from the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in journalism
in 1958. Cohen married Susan Handler, a writer, on February 2, 1958. He
briefly worked as a proofreader for Time, Inc. in Chicago; but, demoralized
by the paternalistic organizational culture, he took a job as assistant
editor of Science Digest magazine in 1959. He was transferred to New York
City shortly after being hired.
In addition to his editorial work, Cohen wrote articles for Science Digest and for other publications. Encouraged by praise of his articles on paranormal subjects, Cohen published his first book, Myths of the Space Age, a collection of skeptical essays on paranormal creatures and phenomena, in 1967. The Cohens moved to a farmhouse in Forestburgh, New York, in 1969 so Daniel could write full time. He originally planned to write popular science books, but the demands of the market led him to concentrate on books about ghosts, monsters, UFOs, and psychic phenomena. Since then, Daniel Cohen has written on an astonishing variety of subjects beyond just the paranormal: historical and current biographies; advice for teenagers; world history; science and technology; animals and nature; urban legends; and popular television, music, film, and sports personalities. He has noted that he writes mass-market paperbacks for children who are reluctant to read and not especially gifted. Thus, he chooses subjects of interest to such readers. The Cohens currently live in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. For more on Daniel Cohen see:

Tom Van Flandern, Ph.D. |
Tom received his Ph.D. degree in
Astronomy, specializing in celestial mechanics, from Yale University in
1969. He spent 20 years at the U.S. Naval Observatory, where he became
the Chief of the Celestial Mechanics Branch. In 1991, Tom formed a Washington,
DC-based organization, Meta Research, to foster research into ideas not
otherwise supported solely because they conflict with mainstream theories
in Astronomy. Tom is editor of the Meta Research Bulletin, which
specializes in reporting anomalies and evidence that does not fit with
standard theories in the field. During the past few years, he has also
been a Research Associate at the University of Maryland Physics Department
in College Park, MD, and a consultant to the Army Research Laboratory in
Adelphi, MD, working on improving the accuracy of the Global Positioning
System (GPS).
North Atlantic Books is the publisher of Tom's 1993 book, "Dark Matter, Missing Planets and New Comets". A second edition was published in 1999. As with his research papers, the book is critical of many standard models in astronomy, such as the Oort Cloud, the Dirty Snowball, and the Big Bang theory. Tom also organizes the Eclipse Edge Expeditions to optimal solar eclipse viewing sites. During his career as a professional research astronomer, Tom has been honored by a prize from the Gravity Research Foundation; served on the Council of American Astronomical Society's Division on Dynamical Astronomy; taught astronomy at the University of South Florida and to Navy Department employees; been a consultant to NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab; and done several spots for the "Project Universe" series that continues to air occasionally on public TV. David M. Jacobs, Ph.D. is Associate Professor
of History at Temple University specializing in twentieth century American
history and culture. Dr. Jacobs began researching the controversy over
unidentified flying objects in America in the mid 1960's, and has amassed
over 35 years of primary research data and analytical hypotheses on the
subject.
In 1973 Dr. Jacobs completed his doctoral dissertation in field of intellectual history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on the controversy over unidentified flying objects in America. This was only the second Ph.D. degree granted involving a UFO-related theme. A revised version of his dissertation was published by Indiana University Press as The UFO Controversy in America (1975). For over twenty years Dr. Jacobs has offered the only regular curriculum university course on UFOs: "UFOs and American Society." |
| Since 1973 Dr. Jacobs has continued to devote most
of his professional and personal energies to researching the UFO phenomenon
in general, and the abduction phenomenon in particular. Having conducted
over 750 hypnotic regressions with over 125 abductees, Dr. Jacobs is one
of the foremost UFO abduction researchers worldwide. As a result of his
extensive primary research, he has developed the first scientific typology
of the abduction experience.
Dr. Jacobs has written and delivered many articles, papers, and addresses on the subject of UFO abduction, and has been a consultant to the major UFO organizations. In 1992 Dr. Jacobs' second book, Secret Life: Firsthand Accounts of UFO Abductions, was published by Simon & Schuster. The book is the most complete exposition of the structure and meaning of the abduction phenomenon yet published. Dr. Jacobs latest book, The Threat was published by Simon & Schuster in January, 1998. The book addresses important questions about abductions, and clarifies issues that have been the subject of much speculation for the past fifty years. The Threat presents the first evidence-driven hypothesis that provides a falsifiable solution to the UFO mystery. In addition, Dr. Jacobs has lectured on the subject of UFO abduction at universities and colleges across the country. In 1989 he delivered the first paper to a scientific organization about the abduction phenomenon at Cornell University. In 1992 Dr. Jacobs participated in the first session on UFOs at the History of Science Society, Washington D.C. In conjunction with colleague Budd Hopkins, Dr. Jacobs conducted the widely discussed Roper Organization poll of the abduction phenomenon. The results of that highly influential survey were published in 1992 in the booklet, Unusual Personal Experiences. Finally, Dr. Jacobs is a strong advocate of strict scientific and ethical research methodology. With colleagues Budd Hopkins and John Carpenter, he has given a series of workshops for members of the mental health community in the methods of abduction hypnosis, research, and therapy. In recent years he has concentrated on ascertaining the proper methodological techniques for the hypnosis and therapy of abductees. His revised "Suggestions for Hypnosis and Therapy of Abductees" was originally published in 1994. Visit Dr. Jacob's website:

An Introduction
to Ingo Swann:
Science felt a small ripple when, in 1973, a parapsychologist Dr. Gertrude Schmeidler reported the extraordinary success, the first of its kind, of a mind-over-matter experiment. Ingo Swann, using only his mind, repeatedly had been able to cause controlled temperature changes in a sealed, distant vacuum. It could now be seen that the human mind was capable of extending its powers beyond the confines of the brain. Time (4/23/73) wondered if Swann's powers were more dangerous than the atomic bomb. The Smithsonian (6/73) speculated on the source of Swann's talents when it reported that, at Stanford University, he had "apparently altered the performance of a deeply buried, heavily shielded magnetometer for 30-second periods through use of PK, and by the 'looking into' the device and describing its mechanisms." Horizon (Winter/74), Time (3/4/74), and Newsweek (3/4/74) surmised that Swann's lab-confirmed PK and clairvoyant powers required a rethinking concerning the importance of psychic giftedness. |
|
After 1974, Swann's participation in research
became more vigorous. He became an intensively studied guinea pig at the
famous think-tank, Stanford Research Institute, and worked with dozens
of other researchers in the U.S. and Europe. John Wilhelm, in his 1976
book, The Search for Superman, indicated that "Ingo Swann flies
straight out of Star Maker...His results are remarkable." In Germany, Esotera
(12/12/76) termed Swann the foremost superpsychic of PSI research in American.
The Readers' Digest (9/77) reported that recent research confirmed
that Swann, in remote-viewing experiments, could "go" to any spot in the
globe and sketch correctly roads and buildings just as they are at that
point.
McCalls wondered if Swann's abilities could be used for psychic spying, as did The San Francisco Examiner (2/10/77), The Washington Post (9/7/77), and columnist Jack Anderson writing about the ESP Gap between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. New Times (3/3/78) speculated that Swann had become a psychic superweapon. In November 1978, Swann was the featured banquet speaker at the annual meeting of the U.S. Army Material Systems Analysis Activity. After 1978, although extensive publicity continued, Swann's ongoing work became shrouded in a cloak of secrecy. In 1987, Swann published Natural ESP: A Layman's Guide to Unlocking the Extra-Sensory Powers of the Mind, a Bantam New Age Book. His prior books are: To Kiss Earth Good-bye (Hawthorne, 1974);He has published articles on psychic abilities, visionary art, and consciousness research. In 1988, he completed a tour of lectures in Germany and Canada, with essays appearing in Italy, France, and Germany. Born in the Colorado Rockies, 14 September 1933, Swann earned in 1955 a B.A. degree in biology after which, in Korea, he served on the staff of the Commander of the Pacific Forces, Gen. I.D. White. In 1958, he accepted a position at the United Nations where he worked in varying capacities until 1969. In 1970, he entered full-time parapsychological and psychoenergetics research, becoming an acknowledged, innovative researcher in these frontier sciences. Swann is also an artist of some renown, his works having been collected by the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. Today, Ingo Swann is internationally known as an advocate and researcher of the exceptional powers of the human mind, and as a leading figure in governmental and scientific projects to investigate and identify the scope of subtle human perceptions. Since 1970, his name and work have been incorporated into most contemporary
books about PSI and the paranormal.
His involvement in government research projects required the discovery of innovative approaches toward the actual realizing of subtle human energies. He views PSI powers as only parts of the larger spectrum of human sensing systems. As advances are made in mapping the human genome, in genetic manipulation, in cybernetic mind-machine interfaces, and in the invention of increasingly smart machines, he predicts that broad strategic interest in exceptional human powers will emerge as a matter of operational importance. Swann is the author of eleven books.
